Description:
Clamnation is an eight piece ensemble dedicated
to preserving the organic sounds of jazz and blues,
featuring traditional and afro-carribean arrangements
layered with world beat funk. The band's roots extend
back 10 years in Milwaukee where 4 of the current members
created the group Clams. The original Blues-Punk band of 1990
has evolved greatly over the years. After adding latin jazz and afro-cuban
elements to the group, a self titled album "Clams" was relaesed
in 1993. The group re-united in 1996 under the name
Clamnation. A full horn section was added and
the ensemble released a live recording
"Clamnation Live" in 1999. Recently keyboards
were added to complete the octet. A studio CD
will be released in Sept. of 2000 with the
current eight members.
