Readers: get $10 off "Young Frankenstein" tickets

Mel Brooks is one of my favorite writers and comedians. I've seen "Blazing Saddles" so many times, I can recite every line of the movie before it's said. Sadly, I'll probably never meet the 84-year-old legend in person, but his work continues to be reinvented, lately with "Young Frankenstein," the musical, playing at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts Nov. 2-7.

And that's why I'm excited that the Marcus Center has teamed up with OnMilwaukee.com to offer our readers $10 off tickets for the Nov. 2-4 shows. All you have to do is use coupon code "KNOCKERS" to get the discount on up to two tickets. The full details are here.

This offer only runs through Oct. 1, so jump on this opportunity, readers. Mel Brooks is a living legend, and "Young Frankenstein" is a brilliant movie. I can't wait to see how it is adapted to the stage. See you there!

Saw this last night with the gf. I'm not the musical fan that she is, but I'm a huge fan of Mel Brooks. Walked away incredibly disappointed. A few funny parts, but a lot of flat jokes and most of the entertaining parts were dirty jokes, nothing that was actually witty or cleaver. Also, the music was too loud, and made it difficult to hear the actors.
I guess I'm not picking the show next time she wants to go to the theater...

Saw it in NYC, was a hoot, great show, great production, typical Mel Brooks. I guess he is working on a Broadway production of BLAZING SADDLES, would love to see it. OMC, thanks for the discount on tickets! Appreciated. A cool $10 is nice. Also, I'm pretty happy seeing shows at the Marcus, Izza----what other venue did you have in mind outside of the re-conditioned former professional wrestling palace now called the MT (Milwaukee Theater).

What's wrong with the Marcus? So much better than that horrible cavern called The Milwaukee Theater.

The Marcus Center is an awful venue. I don't know why anybody goes there. Tear it down.

If I remember correctly, the NYT review of the play last year was not very positive.

"The Producers" was OK - but way too long.
